Visualize and communicate results
This part turns enrichment results into readable, comparable, and reproducible figures. Choose a plot by the question it answers, not by the number of functions available in enrichplot.
| Question | Useful view |
|---|---|
| Which terms are strongest and how many genes support them? | Bar plot or dot plot |
| Which genes connect several terms? | Gene–concept network (cnetplot()) |
| Which terms overlap with one another? | Enrichment map or tree plot |
| Which terms are shifted along a ranking? | GSEA, ridge, or running-score plots |
| How do groups differ? | CompareCluster dot, network, or profile plots |
| Can an external result be shown in the same grammar? | Import and normalize the result, then plot it |
The detailed enrichplot chapter contains the plotting API. For external service outputs, see importing and visualizing results. Keep the result object, filtering rule, color meaning, database identity, and export parameters with every figure so that visual polish does not hide a change in the underlying evidence.
